Crime Description:
On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 1113, Tech Campus Safety observed on security cameras a male punching a female sitting on Tech A front exterior northeast bench. Male ran toward Tech A parking lot at approximately 1114.He ran through the parking lot, and off campus property going west and crossing 9th Street approximately 1115. SPOT Constable Neidi advised male was a previous SPOT student, was previously banned from SPOT, but banishment was overturned. SPOT Constable Neidi advised female is a current SPOT student. Neidi sent a text from his cellphone to Tech Campus Safety cellphone with his statement: "Today, while Soft Skills was on a short break, two students came to security of The Spot to report that the student suspect asked the victim student for her lighter to smoke. She refused, triggering rage in the suspect. The suspect cussed her out and threated her and started to beat on the victim. As security from the Spot arrived, its reported that the suspect took off running across the parking lot then off property. At that time, the victim was on the phone reporting an assault to 911. The Spot security checked and secured the area. Two LMPD officers arrived to take a report. Ambulance arrived and transported victim to the hospital. Case # LMPD-24-097585" LMPD arrived 1120.
