Crime Description:
On 6/22/24 at approximately 9:18 am a male subject ignited a bag taken from a trash can in front of the 1st Street entrance to The Hartford Building. The subject threw the bag into the trash can and fled the scene. The trash can became engulfed in flames causing a window beside it to crack. A University of Louisville Police Officer observed the fire at approximately 9:59 am and called LMFD and Safety Director Ron Allgood. The fire Department responded at 10:05 and extinguished the fire. There was no structural damage to the building. Safety Director and facilities boarded the window and took photos of the scene. The Fire Marshal was notified report Number# 20242496. LMPD Arson Squad has been notified. Camera footage is available.
